4TH prototypetest
The AR supermarket shopping navigation system is designed to solve the problems encountered by customers during supermarket shopping process, such as incorrect product labels, limited product information, and difficulty finding certain products. The prototype shown here simulates the view that customers see when wearing AR glasses when shopping in a supermarket.
Operation methods:
Use the WSAD keys on the keyboard to move forward, backward, left, and right, slide the mouse to control the view, and click the left mouse button to select.
(1) Information display function: Click the product name box to view product information (Include product description, ingredients and expiration date), and then click the cross in the upper right corner of the product information window to close the product information display.
(2) Navigation function: First, click the "All items" button, then choose the category of the product you want to find, and then select the specific product you want to find. After that, a navigation arrow will appear on the ground. You can follow the arrow to the specific location of the product, and click "arrival" to exit navigation. If you want to exit navigation midway, you can click the "Exit" button to terminate navigation directly. Besides, when selecting a product through the "all items", you can exit the product selection at any time by clicking the cross in the upper right corner of the window, and if you want to return to the product category list from the secondary directory displaying product images, please click the "Back" button in the lower left corner of the window.
(3) Product labels show function: The name and price of each product are suspended above the product, as well as its discount, discount savings amount, out-of-stock condition and restock date (if applicable).
Dear test takers, thanks for your feedback in the last survey. Based on your feedback, we made the following improvements to the prototype compared to the previous version: (1) Modified the style of the "All items" button and product name display box to make them more perceptible. (2) Changed the display arrangement of product categories in "All items". (3) Adjusted the color scheme of specific fonts in the AR display to minimize visual strain for users. (4) Reformatted the measurement units in product prices (e.g., "per kg", "per ea") to subscript form to improve visual consistency with physical store labels. (5) Added savings information below discounted prices in the AR view, enabling users to intuitively understand price differences before/after discounts and reducing their cognitive load. (6) For out-of-stock and discounted items, visual markers are added below the corresponding images displayed in "All items", enhancing immediate product status recognition.
After several rounds of iterations, this final prototype of our AR supermarket navigation system has been successfully developed. We sincerely appreciate all participants for their valuable suggestions to improve the system. To conclude, we invite you to share your overall satisfaction level with the finalized version of the system prototype. After completing the prototype testing, please fill out the following questionnaire. This will help us evaluate the system's effectiveness in improving supermarket shopping experience, and your feedback will also provide actionable insights for prospective deployment and system enhancements. Thank you.

The system will absolutely be a game-changer and make the shopping trip incredibly fast with its accurate directions. Brilliant innovation!
It is interesting and useful way for me, a exotic customer, to locate the position of my aimed goods and acquire the right information from multiple ways instead of only relying on confused physical labels
Excellent system! It enables one to easily see what is available in the supermarket without spending much time searching for the desired goods. I hope it can be widely promoted and applied to all supermarkets as soon as possible.
This shopping assistance system prototype delivers a completely fresh perspective. I believe it is a revolutionary leap in the future retail experience.
I see the possibility of a future way of shopping in the supermarket, which is really exciting and will save me a lot of time to do other things in life.
